New for 2024: "Media Consciousness Workshops"
On Feb 1, I'm launching a new Red White & Blind workshop at Soft Medicine.
After some introspection, I’m excited to announce a new, interactive format for my Red White & Blind live events.
The traditional author events I did in 2023 were wonderful, but talking with readers and attendees, I’ve realized I can and should do more. To get through the “red white & blind” state we’re all in on account of the biased, polarized, and manipulative media, I wish to empower people and build a movement of “media consciousness.”
The format I’m launching—“Media Consciousness Workshops”—will be experiential and collaborative. Attendees will come away with the insights, the confidence, and the concrete steps to devise their own Balanced Media Diets and improve their own experiences navigating the news. We will work on noticing our own blind spots. We will understand and admit how difficult the situation is—how we are all regularly deceived by the media. We will also see the positive and explore the fabulous opportunity that the modern era presents us to participate in an unfolding Enlightenment of global awareness.
How do we get there from here?
My goal is to solve this puzzle with you. We will learn together.
If you’re able to be in Northern California on February 1, please come to the first workshop! I would love your participation in this new project. It’s all free of cost.
The first workshop will take place in a wonderful cafe with conducive ambiance called Soft Medicine in Sebastopol, California. The date is Thursday, February 1, at 6:30 pm.
If that date and place are not possible for you, but a Media Consciousness Workshop sounds appealing, let me know what city or town you live in—and whether you’d attend an event. I’m inspired to take this where it goes.
If an online workshop sounds best to you, let me know that.
Yes, I will continue to read some of the book’s most powerful passages at these events and host traditional Q&A afterwards. For many people, those experiences remain the most engaging. But during a bit of holiday contemplation, I realized that I can do more—and that many people are hungry to go further.
If you don’t have your copy of the book yet, get it or read a free excerpt >
If you want to start on the Balanced Media Diet today, give it a go for free >
Thanks Tony, love this idea. Live in Metro Detroit MI and meeting in person would be great but would be very interested in a collective online call if possible as well. Thanks!
